Evidently MAGAts regretting their vote and making tearful tiktoks about it is becoming a thing. They make these videos where they ask why democrats won't forgive them and welcome them into civilized society now that they recognize that they've been in a cult all this time.

A cult and a hate group, let's remember.

MAGA is a cult and a hate group, aligned with other designated hate groups like the KKK, the neo-Nazis, the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Moms for Liberty, etc.

I've only seen a few of these videos so far, so maybe I've just seen the wrong ones? But I have to wonder if it's just me or does it truly look like every one of these videos has an unspoken "Ha ha! Psyche!" at the end of it. I mean, it's not just me, is it? (♯^.^ღ)

Or is it? Maybe it is. It just feels like they shut off the camera and then giggled at the suckers in the audience, saying, "Yeah, that should pay the bills for this month! Those stupid lefties think I actually left MAGA! Bwahahaha! As if I'd ever turn on the president who's finally making America great again!"

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think they should be asking for forgiveness from dems. They should ask for forgiveness from the families of Renée Good, Keith Porter and Alex Pretti. They should ask forgiveness from the 238 Venezuelans sent to that terrorist prison in El Salvador without due process. They should ask forgiveness from the families of the pregnant women who bled to death in hospital parking lots because doctors were too afraid to treat them after Trump overturned Roe v. Wade. They should ask forgiveness from all the government workers fired by DOGE, and all the trans people who've been fired and/or persecuted due to Trump's anti-trans policies. They should ask forgiveness from all the POCs who've been profiled and harassed, and who've lost jobs because the rescinding of DEI allows racist employers to discriminate against qualified workers based on skin tone.

They should ask forgiveness from all the school teachers and librarians who've been labeled "groomers" because their school libraries carried books about lgbt+ people, books that were later banned. They should ask forgiveness from everyone on Earth whose health and safety is now in jeopardy because Trump reversed EPA rulings and allows big business to decimate the environment. They should ask forgiveness from all of Jeffrey Epstein's victims who aren't going to get justice since the MAGAts put a sex offender in the White House instead of in prison where he belongs. They should ask forgiveness from the political enemies Trump's abused his position to take revenge against.

They should ask forgiveness from everyone in Greenland and Canada. And, yanno, from the whole world that the MAGAts destabilized by giving virtually unlimited power to a dangerously unbalanced, narcissistic toddler in a geezer's body.

They should ask forgiveness from the families of the nine people who died after Trump incited an insurrection on January 6, 2021. And maybe they should ask forgiveness from all the people who were later harmed by the rioters when Trump pardoned them all, even the most violent, and released them all back into society, where they committed more crimes.

Honestly, if January 6 didn't wake you up, then you're just in a freaking coma.

Do I believe in mercy? Forgiveness? Of course! I do want and attempt to be a good Christian. But as a privileged white person I haven't been particularly harmed by Trump's policies despite being a democrat. The worst I've suffered is high prices and inconvenience. I've just had to give up some things due to affordability issues, but I haven't actually been hurt. It's not for me or those like me to give those MAGAts forgiveness.

In one way, Trump's second term has been useful in that it's shown us just where the cracks are in our democracy. Now we just have to shore them up with proper legislation the next time the Democrats get into office so this never happens again. We could actually come out of this a stronger, better democracy in the future if we address it properly. Let's start by making it illegal for anyone to run for office if they've ever been convicted of a felony.

Would I forgive the MAGAts in my own family?

Hmmm...

I only know of one. My mother's sister hates Trump, but voted for him anyway because he promised to take money from my parents and other poor and middle-class people and give it to millionaires like my aunt. Because she doesn't have a cushy enough life right now with her maid and her swimming pool and her pedigreed dog and her trips around the world, and all the other crap she has that we could never afford in a million years. Does my mother care? Evidently not, since they're still besties. "We just don't talk about politics anymore."

Will I ever forgive my aunt?

Um...

NOPE.
