Attempted another mood board, this one for Thaddy and Rufus. The photo at the top right is actually a first class hallway on the Titanic, or a re-creation of one, but then I picture this airship looking a lot like an airborne version of the Titanic. If only the Titanic had been able to fly, they could've missed that darn iceberg. Oh, how the world suffers from the lack of real life steampunkery. (ﾉД`)ヽ (ﾉД｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡

Attempted a mood board for Ulbert, the medieval monk. He falls in love with the queen, but she contracts the plague when it ravages the country in the middle ages. He vows to save her and works on a machine that will cure her, but alas, she dies before he completes it. This machine becomes the catalyst for all the action in the book, as an imperialistic nation across the sea discovers its existence and decides to steal it for themselves. ˓(ˊᘩˋ⋆)

I've never made a mood board before, but I'll try anything that'll help me avoid working on the book. This is Jarvis, the main character, whose parents are murdered by the clansmen in 1910. The clansmen set fire to Jarvy's house in the first chapter, leaving him with nothing but rage and grief.

I rarely do face claims, especially since the characters in my head generally don't have any real life counterparts, darn it. But in this particular instance I happened to find two faces that actually come fairly close to what I imagined in my mind for Bryce and Ashanté when I wrote Ashes. (ღ˘ᴗ˘ღ)
