In all the promotion of the OMP anthologies, one thing seems to have been forgotten, and that's the two charities themselves. So let's take a look at them:

Cancer Research UK is the world's largest independent cancer research charity, and yes, there's a Wikipedia page on it that gives you all the substance without the sales pitch. About 65% of its income is earmarked for actual research. Compared to other charities these days, that's a decent percentage. The rest, of course, goes to fundraising and salaries.

Emmaus UK is a charity that works to end homelessness. Anyone who's read my books knows homelessness is one of the blatantly obvious symptoms of population pressure on this planet of limitations. While not addressing that problem whatsoever, Emmaus at least provides work and shelter for homeless people, which is laudable. ヽ(^。^)丿

When you purchase an anthology, the money presumably goes directly into Jason Greenfield's bank account, and he then writes a cheque to these two charities. So the question becomes do you trust Jason to write the cheque? I admit I was suspicious at first, but I've decided to trust him. He seems honest, and these books likely won't bring in enough money to tempt anyone to larceny. Like someone else said, we should never feel bad for thinking the best of people and then getting duped. It's those who take advantage of our trust who should feel embarrassed. We at least tried to do the right thing and make the world a better place, and personally I think these two charities are worthy of our efforts. ٩(˘◡˘)۶
