Omg here it is!!   Finally.   ٩(˘◡˘)۶

That hidden gem you were promised. Sorry you had to wade through a thousand mediocre books to get to this one, but at least you've finally found it. Good for you for not giving up the search early! So many other readers quit long before now.

When the ebook revolution began and it was suddenly possible for anyone—and I mean anyone—to publish a book, they promised you there'd finally be a new era of literary excellence, an avant-garde movement of brilliant thought and prose since the Big Six Five could no longer dictate what you read based on what sells the most. There'd be a ton of future classics written by housewives and college students, literary masterpieces penned by dental assistants and school teachers. Ordinary people could finally publish the kind of books they wanted to read instead of the pulp fiction and brain candy traditional publishers were peddling at $15 a pop. The next wave of modern classics that would be taught in the high schools of the future could be yours today for $4.99 or less!!

Um...yeah.

It was a nice theory but the reality turned out quite different. The indies only want to make money, not art. They just ape the Big Five, only they do it badly, posting a crapload of poorly written derivative works riddled with grammar, punctuation and spelling errors. Gaaah. (-᷅_-᷄๑)

Oh, right. Sorry to kvetch, but the whole situation just infuriates me. I'd been expecting every self-published book to be as amazing as Origin of Birds, but I had to wade through omg so many tons of absolute utter garbage before I finally stumbled across this book. It shouldn't be so frigging hard to find well-written, professionally crafted indie novels of substance. .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.
