The greatest bookfluencer of all time. (੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭‧˚₊*̥✧

Just finished The Prisoner of Zenda, one of many books recommended to me by the original bookfluencer.

That's right. Bugs Bunny. /(=^ェ^=)\

Over the years I've bought scores of books flexed in Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes cartoons. Okay, most of them are still sitting on my Kindle unread, but I've read quite a few and have rarely been disappointed. I gave The Prisoner of Zenda four out of five stars on Goodreads.

At the end of A Hare Grows in Manhattan Bugs picks up the coming-of-age novel A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, which inspired me to read it too. What a great story! Later saw the movie with Peggy Ann Garner and that was just as good as the book. (*^-‘) 乃

In Gorilla My Dreams they plugged The Grapes of Wrath and Our Vines Have Tender Grapes. In Dough Ray Meow it's Brewster's Millions.

From the cartoon Book Revue I bought So Big by Edna Ferber, Dante's Inferno and The Complete Works of Shakespeare. In A Coy Decoy it was Black Beauty, The Bridge of San Luis Rey and For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Have You Got Any Castles inspired a huge haul:

Kim
Heidi
Lorna Doone
Frankenstein
The Good Earth
The Invisible Man
The Thirty-Nine Steps
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
The Phantom of the Opera
A Tale of Two Cities
The Count of Monte Cristo
The Three Musketeers
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Last of the Mohicans
Gone With the Wind
The Prisoner of Zenda
The House of Seven Gables

In fairness, out of the 27 books listed I've only read 11. But the rest are waiting for me, and I'll get to them eventually. No, really.

The point being it's probably high time for a Looney Tunes book club. I'd join! (>‿◠)✌
