So I was planning to work on my wip for this, but I'm thinking now I might actually start a new project for Nanners. I've been meaning to get to this fictional what-if based on two real life stories. One inspiration is a real life little girl about ten years old who had to cross state lines after getting raped because her home state refused to allow her to get an abortion even though she was assaulted. I honestly can't figure out why legislators want to preserve the genes of criminals; but then, most legislators are likely criminals themselves, and fear their own genes dying out. Bastards. (-᷅_-᷄๑)
The other real life story that inspired this was Ursula K. Le Guin's account of her 1950 abortion, as described in her 2012 essay What It Was Like. In it she so eloquently explains how, if she'd allowed the anti-abortionists to impose their will on her body, she would've given birth to an unwanted baby for them, but that would've precluded any possibility of her having the three wanted children she later had with her husband. Because she would've been pregnant and carrying that unwanted baby at the time, she wouldn't have been able to board a plane and meet her future husband, so they never would've met and never would've had those three children they loved so much. So the pro-lifers would have aborted her three wanted children in favor of an unwanted baby fathered by an asshole. Argh.
In my story, a nine-year-old girl in Texas is raped and prevented from getting an abortion by the state legislature. Texas currently doesn't allow abortions in the event of assault. Since her parents are too poor to pay for a trip to another state where abortion is legal, she's forced to give birth against her will to this rapist's baby. Her body is badly damaged in the process and she's left permanently sterile, so she can never have any children of her own in the future.
She's now a grown adult with a lot of issues. The rapist's baby was put up for adoption at birth and adopted by a state legislator, who taught him that girls and women are just trophies. That rapist's baby is therefore now a rapist himself, as I imagine most legislators are. I'm thinking of maybe making the legislator a right-wing Christian fundamentalist like the Duggars, so maybe his rapist son will assault his sisters first. And they'll protect him because they've been brainwashed to believe that boys are more important than girls and girls don't have rights over their own bodies.
And they'll be book banners. (⊙.⊙(-̶●̃ₒ●̶̃)⊙.⊙)
