Before I forget, I want to make a list of my favorite music genres in case anyone ever asks again. I thought I'd made such a post before, but couldn't find it when I needed it. (ノ_<、)ヾ(´▽｀)

In no particular order:

Note to self: by steampunk, I mean my own idea of steampunk. Steampunk music should conjure visions of the Victorian era, and most steampunk today doesn't do that for me. Steampunk shouldn't be heavy metal or alternative songs about Victorian subjects. It should be either ragtime, waltzes or marches played with modern instruments, or else modern music played with Victorian instruments ─ cellos, violas, violins, pianos, steam organs, etc., not synthesizers and electric guitars. Likewise, modern takes on other music that would've been heard back then can be steampunk, like circus music or classical. ٩(˘◡˘)۶
