I don't think anyone needs to lose weight, because I honestly believe everyone can be healthy at any size. And so do doctors!

But if you want to lose a few pounds to improve your self-esteem, this site has been helping me with my new year's resolution:

You just fill in those boxes and click Next, then tick the box for your level of activity on the next page. I always check the first box since I'm a lazy slug. (♯^.^♯)

Then the bottom part will pop up, and you'll see three tabs for how many calories you need to lose weight, maintain weight, or gain weight.

I write down every single calorie I consume every day in a special journal, and I never eat anything if I don't know the calorie count. If you can discipline yourself to write everything down, then you can eventually figure out what you should cut out of your diet. But don't suffer! I eat candy and chocolate chip muffins, but I always write down the exact calorie counts for them and work them into my daily menu. As long as you eat healthy foods as well as treats, I don't see any reason to cut out stuff you love. And it's helping me. The weight loss is slow but steady. They say it's better to lose it slowly anyhow so your body can adjust to its new lower set point.
