I just pre-ordered Emily St. John Mandel's upcoming novel, Sea of Tranquility, due in April. Like the rest of us, she apparently spent 2020 writing a book about a pandemic.

Quoted from her Instagram: Sea of Tranquility is about time travel, pandemics, work, long book tours, family, and the simulation hypothesis. A friend told me to stop referring to the book as “deranged,” but look, I wrote it in 2020.

I love the cover art for the U.S. version, and have to wonder again why the UK gets such an ugly cover. Why do they bother using different covers for different countries anyhow? This makes no sense. It seems like an added expense for no purpose. The book publishing world is seriously insane.
